Saturday, August 8 couldn’t have been a nicer day to spend out on a golf course. It might have been a little warm to wear polyester, but to honour Quinn’s beginnings a number of teams sweated it out to show off their Swingin’ Seventies attire. Courtlin Quinn, Jessica Quinn, Tyrel Hewitt, and Kyle Weaver took home the prize for Best Dressed Team, while Anthony Coldwell’s groovy outfit took home the individual prize.
Besides far-out attire, this year also featured some awesome prizes. Since Quinn is celebrating our 45th year, the tournament organizing committee thought we needed to go BIG for our hole in one prizes: hole 12 showcased a 2015 Polaris Slingshot, and hole 8 featured the chance to take home $10,000. Unfortunately no one drove away with either prize, but there were plenty of contenders on the course for hole prizes. Thank you to all the sponsors that supported this year’s event, and their wonderful prize donations.
Some of the day’s winners included the first-place team of Matt Heikkinen, Cody Bradshaw, Derek Gerrard and Jesse C. who finished the day with a score of 59. The grand prize raffle winner was guest Troy Gillard who got his winning ticket on the ‘Double It Up’ Hole on #17. Gillard bought four tickets and when he hit the green with his tee shot he walked away with double the tickets- one of them winning him a $1,000 travel voucher.
The big winners of the day were the Boys & Girls Club of Central Alberta. Quinn was able to raise over$2,000 for this year’s charity of choice. Thanks to everyone who supported!
